Assistant Principal

Hello Umatilla Tigers,

My name is Amanda Fielder. I am thrilled to be the 2022-2023 Assistant Principal at Umatilla Middle School. I am a proud product of Lake County Schools. I went on to study Education at the University of Florida. In 2016, I earned my Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida.

I have worked in Lake County Schools for 14 years in various roles. I taught ELA at the middle school level as well as Intensive Reading and AVID. While teaching, I took on several leadership roles on campus, which encouraged my desire to go into school leadership. I was blessed to spend my first three years as an Assistant Principal at Umatilla High School.

I am a passionate educator who believes in educating the whole student.  Through a partnership with our community, faculty, staff, and students, we will be able to encourage students to think critically and take ownership over their learning. Our students will exit Umatilla Middle prepared for the rigors of high school and post-secondary pathways.

I’m excited to continue working and learning with the Umatilla community! We are fortunate to be in a small town, with a BIG heart!
